The final day is here

The PLPP Live Grooming Report indicates that tonight will be the final grooming of the season:

April 16 It was a slightly colder and mainly clear night in PLPP and as of 6AM, no fresh snow has fallen in at least 12 hours, leaving the fresh grooming snow free for the time being. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, there will be one more night of scheduled grooming in PLPP, with the final grooming of the season for April 17th.

I’d like to thank the skiers who are still going out and giving us timely updates on the conditions. From the sounds of BarryG’s report today, the conditions were excellent on last night’s grooming.

I haven’t seen any announcement from the Canmore Nordic Centre, so grooming may continue on the man-made snow for the time being.

We haven’t heard from our regular, most prolific trip reporter for a while, but Chuck sent me an email today along with this photo:

Chuck in the north

Hi Bob,
Sorry for being out of touch recently… but we have been up north looking for better snow!

  1. I finally took my skis out of the car last week despite not skiing for the last few months. It seemed like the right time. Ankle is on the mend and Should be hiking and biking soon. But also looking forward already to the next ski season and building another couch. Thanks again Bob for another successful season of ski blogging!

  2. Oh Chuck,Chuck,Chuck you rapscallion you.

  3. I’m not convinced Chuck is in the north. It’s more likely he’s sitting on a beach somewhere drinking piña coladas!
