Thanks to Chuck for this report and the terrific photos.
There were 2 cms of fresh snow last night and temperatures stayed below zero all day, so there were lots of happy faces.
Suggest those Skier Bob Rock Pickers head west… only need to watch out for the thin area on the curve near that first bridge.
Perfect timing today as the track setters arrived just as I headed out. See (and read) how nicely they have prepared it for you: Moraine Lake road photos
It looks like the surface has been leveled out nicely and it should be better for skaters too.
We have a winner!
I’m pleased to announce the winner of the Fischer skis contest.
Congratulations to Dean Richert, the lucky winner of a new pair of Fischer Sport Glass skis, or he can choose the waxless variety, Fischer Fibre Crown skis.
Nona picked Dean’s name yesterday when I met her and her friends on Skogan Pass.
Thanks to everybody for entering. I enjoyed reading all the interesting comments. We reached the limit of 150 entries in less than three days!
For comparison, the first year of the Fischer skis contest in 2011, we ran the contest for seven weeks and had 64 entries.
If you didn’t win this one, don’t despair. The Emerald Lake Lodge contest is coming up in December. Make sure you have a picture ready to send in.
If you ski at Shaganappi golf course, please read today’s previous update, “No, you can’t ski anywhere.”
Do you have boots for a new skier?
Let’s see if we can find a pair of boots for Cindy’s husband:
My husband just arrived in Canada this summer and I had him out at Confederation Golf Course last weekend to try cross country skiing…in minus 15! He LOVED it…and so now I want to try and find him a pair of cross country boots (size 43 or men’s 9.5 / 10). I have a couple of pairs of skis…NNN and NNN BC bindings…as well as some telemark skis with simple 3 pin bindings…if anyone has any boots kicking around in these sizes / binding types and would like to sell them please let me know! Take care.
