Steve Riggs took advantage of today’s new snow at West Bragg Creek and it was cold enough for blue wax! It’s remarkable how Steve managed to photograph the exact same location as my photo yesterday, but it’s easy to see there’s even more snow today.
Steve remarked…
“All great- easy going on the consistently smooth base, with good grip and glide using Swix VR 40. As usual for early season- I was on my light touring rock skis, but hit nothing, other than a couple of times where my poles bottomed out. I’m betting that tomorrow will be superb, once the snow sets up and further grooming occurs. Maybe even some track setting!”
If you can find this spot on Loggers Loop tomorrow, I’d be happy to post your photo for Winter Wonderland Day 3.
Moraine Lake road Update
We won’t be skiing on Moraine Lake road anytime soon. This has been posted by Parks Canada on the Lake Louise trail report:
Moraine Lake Road* – Please be aware that on November 7th there will be construction machinery on Moraine Lake Road. More snowfall will be necessary to improve conditions following this date.
… I keep refreshing the long term forecast… would the Great Divide maybe be ready before MLR this year?
