Fresh tracksetting on Lodgepole (file photo)

Feb 9, 2021: With so few skiers on the trails, the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park tracksetting crew will be out, starting at 12:30 pm today on the following trails:

  • Elk Pass
  • Hydroline
  • Tyrwhitt
  • Lookout

A moose may have been the first one on Lodgepole today (file photo)

Last night, the trails on the west side of the road were trackset including Lodgepole, Braille, Sinclair, Meadow, WWL Access, and Spruce road. Chances are you’ll see some moose tracks on these trails.

A couple of the natural snow trails at the Canmore Nordic Centre were trackset early today: Bow trail, and Meadowview.

According to Jezebel’s trip report, conditions are excellent at Confederation golf course in Calgary.

CBC’s Eyeopener just recorded an interview with me about my retirement. They said it will air tomorrow(Wednesday) at 8:20 a.m.

I’ve shied away from media in the past couple years but CBC did a lot to get my blog off the ground when I was a regular on their Real Ski Report every week, and which they discontinued about four years ago. I felt I owed them one last interview. Rob Brown(downhiller) is filling in for David Gray(xc skier) this week, and for a downhill skier, Rob was very pleasant to talk to.
