Feb 15, 2021: Although it pertains mostly to backcountry skiers, I don’t imagine there will be many opportunities to post such a blog title. Thanks, MAAD. If you haven’t heard, there was an earthquake in Banff.
The coming week should be one of the best for xc skiing throughout the SkierBob universe with mild temperatures and excellent snow and trail conditions. Trails which have been trackset in the past week should all be in reasonably good shape due to little fresh snow and light skier traffic.
Although still a bit frosty in Calgary, the highs in the mountains should reach single digits today.
With so many choices, I’m hoping it will spread everyone out and we won’t have to fight for parking space today which is Family Day.
A reminder, you’ll encounter a 900-metre reroute of the Bill Milne trail due to the large ice flow.
Feb 14 Tracksetting
