Conditions are still excellent on the ski trails at Lake Louise. Air temp was zero, but the snow is still nice and cold.

They’ve also had some wind and tree debris on the trails, but there was lots of tracksetting happening today which was burying most of the debris. I skied on good tracks on Lakeshore, returning on the lake which had a few slushy spots but nothing you couldn’t ski around. Also skied Tramline, Moraine Lake road, and Fairview, all on new tracksetting.

For anyone doing the loppet on Sunday, it looks like we’ll be able to start on the lake. They had seven lanes trackset already and no slush.

The Ice Magic festival is on this weekend at Lake Louise so it’ll be very busy there. Would like to know how things are holding up in PLPP, anyone go there today?

One Comment:

  1. PLPP had a crazy amount of blowndown cones twigs and needles which really detracted from the brilliant tracksetting down the last few days. Waxes, even VR, quickly accumulated thick dirty debris. Halfway through our ski my wife bailed not enjoying it and I traded to my waxless which were much better. Not the funnest outing – give me -15C and clean tracks anyday!!
