-Skiing on Old Goat Glacier on Sep 23, 2015. Photo by Alf Skrastins-
At this time of year, I look forward to receiving an email from Alf Skrastins, curious to know if his record is intact:
Alf says, “I enjoyed a nice day of skiing on Goat Glacier. That marks 168 consecutive months of skiing…or 14 years of skiing every month. The snow on the Goat Glacier was ideal for skate-skiing today. Smooth, firm and fast!Hopefully, this marks the start of a great ski season to come.”

Paul biked the Cascade valley today, and sends this note and photo:
Bob
Cycled to the Warden’s Cabin on the Cascade Fire Road again today. Awesome day and the bridge is ready for us to ski on. The temporary is gone. Not that I want winter next week but it’s nice to know the bridge is in.
Good skiing!

Who will be the first one to cross it on skis?
The next 9 months of skiing should be easy!
14 years ! What an amazingly cool thing to have done, Alf !
Three signs that ski season might not be that far off-
-A flurry of updates from skier Bob.
-Brilliant fall colours.
-Alf skiing on snow that doesn’t look more like concrete 🙂
