I’ve biked Goat creek/Spray river at least a half-dozen times this summer, but only posted one update which was back on May 24.

Today it was in reasonably good shape for biking. There are quite a few puddles on the first 7K but most of them were easy to skirt. I lifted my bike and walked around two big puddles as I didn’t feel like getting muddy today.
Spray river bridge at 9K
The skies were overcast and threatening rain but I made it to Banff with only a few wayward drops.
If you haven’t been down Goat creek and Spray river since the floods of 2013, you’ll notice the Spray river bridge at 9K is in a different spot. In the photos, you can also see a lot of guard rails leading up to the bridge which were never there before.

I’m hoping that we’ll be skiing this trail in two months, and I plan on doing it a dozen times this winter, snow conditions permitting. Goat creek is an all-time favourite of mine for skiing and biking.
The photos are a mixture of today’s and some from an August bike trip(and of course some from winter).
Work is progressing on the Trans Canada trail south from Goat creek (at the border to Banff National Park). The end supports are completed for a bridge across Goat Creek and logs are placed but not yet usable. There is a temporary loose plank bridge in place.
The trail continues on the west side of Goat creek, very muddy for 50 meters, but good thereafter. Some nice boardwalk has been constructed over swampy areas west of Goat Pond.
