Friday night shenanigans

-Tawny on the Great Divide-

You can read Tawny’s evaluation of the Great Divide on the Trip reports. I would add that you’ll find it a bit bumpy because of the occasional frost heaves in the pavement, but as Tawny mentions, your skis are safe. I didn’t see any pavement showing.

After skiing the Great Divide, I checked Moraine Lake road and ended up running into my friend Chip.  We went for dinner to catch up on the summer’s news, so you can blame him for the lateness of this update.

Overall, the snow is in good shape in Lake Louise. Warm weather hasn’t made its mark there yet. VR50(0/-4) worked well for me all day. Chip was using VR45(-2/-8) and was happy with it.

No tracksetting has occurred yet, but the skiing is still enjoyable. Let’s see what tomorrow brings. Forecast is calling for warmer weather for Saturday, and snow on Sunday.

One Comment:

  1. Moraine Lake Road was busy yesterday!! Lots of those “serious Nordic skiers” all ready, skiing up and down, up and dow, how many times??? Once is plenty for me! Super snow, though 🙂
