-Helen Read and Bill McKeever were almost back when I met them- The Banff trail report this morning indicated that Redearth Creek was trackset yesterday.

By my count, I cleared the trail of 52 rocks, mostly on the first kilometre. Al and Bernadette who were ahead of me, also did their share. Childhood experiences never go to waste.

On a hot day like today, this is one of my favourite places to go with my dog. It’s a lovely waterfall and spectacular landscape feature which is unknown to most people.

We were thrilled to observe this black bear for about 20 minutes while it munched its way through the Sawback burn along the Bow Valley parkway yesterday(Monday).

Question from Mike: I’m heading on out on a back country hike. We are starting at shark mountain trail head and heading to Bryant creek, from there I’m heading over the Allenby pass to Banff cave and basin. I’m wondering if there is enough water stops along the way

Redearth Creek; poor beginning but gets better

The report from Terry on Saturday gave me some hope about conditions on Redearth Creek. I was also hoping the trail received some of yesterday’s snow.
