Between talking with numerous people on Goat creek/Spray river I managed to fit in 20.4K of skiing.
I went five days without skiing this trail! Goat creek and Spray river west were simply spectacular today. The 2-3 cm of cold snow we received in the past 24 hours has improved conditions.
The challenge today was to get to Banff in time to have the lunch special at the Silver Dragon. I was dropped off at the Goat creek trailhead above Canmore at 12 noon

I’ve biked Goat creek/Spray river at least a half-dozen times this summer, but only posted one update which was back on May 24.
-It’s odd to see skiers in shirtsleeves in January- Thanks for all the trip reports today. Good to see there is still some skiing to be enjoyed in this freaky weather.
-Happy skiers at the Goat creek bridge- I don’t know about you, but I had a difficult time deciding where to ski today because of so many excellent choices.
