I took the above photo around 5:15 pm with the help of my car’s headlights. I drove over to the Elk Pass trailhead after skiing on yesterday’s groomed/trackset trails in PLPP. I’ll have an update on those later tonight.

I feel blessed to have been able to ski the Tyrwhitt loop one more time on surprisingly good conditions. After seeing this morning’s Live Grooming Report, I couldn’t resist.

Elk Pass for the final time

Elk pass has lots of new snow

There’s already up to 10 cm of fresh snow over last night’s tracksetting on Elk Pass. The snow depth is variable and to my surprise,

Elk Pass and Tyrwhitt

The Cookie Race takes place tomorrow(Saturday) in PLPP, starting at Pocaterra hut. Some of the race trails were trackset overnight including Elk Pass and Tyrwhitt which I skied on today.

Curious sighting on Elk Pass

Not only did I see a fat biker, but I also have a good snowshoe story to tell you(later). The last I heard, fat bikes weren’t allowed on the groomed ski trails.
