There’s nothing more enjoyable than 6K of downhill fun on excellent tracksetting and good, fast snow on Pocaterra. Upper Pocaterra was trackset last night
Nick and Ray have most of it covered with their reports on Elk Pass and Blueberry Hill. Nick also included a fantastic photo of the excellent tracks we were skiing on
Update Fri Dec 21:Yesterday, Mt Shark was groomed and partially trackset. The Alluvial Fan at Emerald Lake was trackset. It’s always a treat to be skiing
Jody was just finished tracksetting Elk Pass when I arrived around 1:30 pm. Starting at 5 a.m, he also worked on Blueberry Hill, Tyrwhitt, Hydroline and Patterson. Check the PLPP Live Grooming
-Tom and Wendy heading south on Pocaterra from the Packers junction- I took advantage of the Upper Pocaterra access trail and skied on some very nice grooming
For those who are new around here, PLPP = Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in Kananaskis Country. There’s about 8-10 cm of snow on Elk Pass. As you can see
My friend Chip encountered some packed ski trails in Kananaskis while he was accessing a scramble to Mt Roberta today. The higher elevations in PLPP near the top of Pocaterra and Whiskey Jack
-Breanna on Packers- I couldn’t have asked for a nicer day to end a wonderful ski season. Skiing on cold snow with beautiful tracksetting and later seeing so many of the blog “regulars” at the hut.
I waited for the perfect day to finally ski up to the Kananaskis Fire Lookout this season. The snow is so amazing
Conditions don’t get any better than they were on last night’s tracksetting. The only complaint that I can make about today is that we ran out of cookies.
