Should be some good skiing for the next few days

The snow has stopped and the sun is shining in Canmore this morning. All told, we only received about 5 cm here. The Canmore Nordic Centre GPS grooming report shows that all the trails have been groomed and presumably trackset.

There’s still two days of tracksetting occurring in PLPP, so with this new snow, we should have one last weekend of good skiing there. My understanding is that Thursday Saturday night will be the last grooming. 🙁

Does anyone know if they’re still grooming in Lake Louise? The trail report is inconclusive.

The weather forecast shows that temperatures are staying cool in the mountains, at least until Saturday. With grooming on Sat night in PLPP, Sunday morning should give us one last really good ski trip.

  1. What do Dog Sled Handlers know!
Friends of ours assured us that the Moraine Lake Road and Fairview Loop has now been trackset. And John & Jeff have groomed the Chateau area, and assured us that the great Divide has been groomed as well.
    Happy Easter everyone.

  2. Hi Bob; Jeff and I groomed all the trails around the Chateau today, and saw grooming on Morraine and Great divide trails. I hear that the the management at the Chateau is supporting a longer skiing/tracksetting season, same as I have been saying!

  3. We skied the Great Divide at Lake Louise today and did not see any grooming activity. There is a lot of fresh snow so we took the opportunity to enjoy the side trails (had great fun making a circuit including #7 & #8 trails).
The sled-dog handlers told me that the government laid off most of the track setters as of April 1, and the only one remaining likes to ski!
