Snow is on the way

– Skiing at West Bragg Creek in early November with the Calgary ski club –

This looks like an up-slope storm, so get ready to do some skiing in Calgary and maybe West Bragg Creek.

The Weather Network has issued a snowfall warning:
A strong low pressure system will build into Southern Montana tonight pushing warm moist air up against the Rockies generating heavy snow over Southern Alberta. The heaviest accumulations will start along the foothills early this evening and will spread eastward through the overnight period. Total snow accumulations of 10 to 20 centimetres are expected by Tuesday afternoon.

Lesser amounts are predicted for Banff and Lake Louise, and that usually means PLPP as well. The Ribbon Creek area is expecting 5 – 10 cm.

Who will be the first to leave a trip report?

If you’re making your first ski trip of the season, be sure to let us know about it on the Trip Reports page. I’ll be relying on my readers for updates from West Bragg and Calgary. The trip reports page had thousands of clicks last year, and proved to be very popular with skiers.

Last year, our first trip report came on Nov 4. Let’s hope it’s earlier this year! You can still read the Nov 2011 Trip Reports here.
