It’s the first day of fall, and while most recreationists are preoccupied with larch trees, I have important news to share regarding some of the cross-country ski trails in Kananaskis. You may have seen Groomer Jeff on television recently, working hard at repairing trails with the new motorized wheel barrows… http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/k-country-gets-an-extra-hand-with-clean-up-efforts-1.1862968
Jeff gave me this additional information…
“Ski trails are coming along nicely. We fixed the two culvert washout areas on Skogan Screamer and the junction of Marmot Basin and Skogan Pass. Now we have complete access from Ribbon Parking Lot to Sunburst, High Level and Skogan Pass.”

Let’s hope this is the first of many “good news” stories to come over the next few months. Judging from the extensive damage on Ribbon Creek, I don’t expect we’ll be skiing there this winter, but the trails around the village(Terrace, Kovach, Aspen) should be skiable, and now it looks like we’ll have some of the Skogan trails along with Troll Falls available to us.
Bob, you are teasing us with pictures of snow and ski tracks!!
Almost scared me there Bob with that first glance at fresh trax! Good tease.
