25 cm and counting

Update 1 pm: The sky has cleared but the forecast is still calling for further snowfall today and this evening. World headquarters of SkiHere has received 27.5 cm(elevation 1402M).

10:30 a.m. This is one huge snowfall we’re having in Canmore. Should be some serious grooming and tracksetting happening after the storm.

Kananaskis Public Safety has twittered “25-30 cm of new snow on Tuesday AM along Smith-Dorrien valley near Burstall/Chester trailheads. Strong winds has pushed Avalanche Danger towards HIGH in the Alpine/ Treeline elevation zones as a result. Snowfall expected to continue most of the day tapering off later tonight..”

It’s also reported the Trans Canada Hwy has been closed in both directions 17 km east of Golden due to an accident.  No estimate has been given on when it may reopen.

  1. Just skied the lower Banff Trail and returned on the Upper, sorry don’t know the new names. They have been roller packed, took the time to throw some rocks off the trail. The skidoos were busy everywhere out there. Winter is here!!
