Barbara gets ready to pick the lucky winner of the wax contest
Update: We have a winner! I’ve already received a confirmation email from jeff. Yes, that Jeff. Tracksetter Jeff is the winner of the Home Waxing Setup. I couldn’t believe it when Barbara pulled the winning entry today. You might remember our previous contest was won by Tracksetter Jody. If you are a tracksetter, go buy a lottery ticket! (P.S. In my quest to find an independent third party to make the draw for the Home waxing set-up from Lifesport contest I headed to the Canmore Nordic Centre this afternoon.
A cold but sunny day at the Canmore Nordic Centre
Although the temperature was just as cold as yesterday at -20°C, there was no wind whatsoever so it felt nicer. The snow temperature was also -20.
Barbara, visiting from Ontario, made the draw in the comfort of the daylodge. I’m just waiting for a confirmation email before I announce the lucky winner’s name.
I skied out on the Banff loop, onto Banff trail, then onto Silvertip to the end of the grooming. It was the first time I had been to the extreme west end of the trail system since the strong winds of three weeks ago. I was amazed at how many trees had been cleared from the trails out there. There is still quite a bit of debris on the trails but with hard wax, nothing was much of a problem. If you start skiing at the daylodge, you can do about 4K until you hit the debris. It starts near the junction with Grey wolf.
