Canmore, Sun Feb 5 @8:15 a.m: The 11 cm that’s on my deck this morning is probably on the low end of the accumulation amounts in the mountains from this snowfall which started 24 hours ago. Temperature is -18 and it’s windy.
According to the forecast, there’s lots more to come.
Which trail have you been waiting to ski? As soon as the trail crews get this new snow groomed, you should be able to go anywhere and have great conditions including the natural snow trails at the Canmore Nordic Centre.
On Friday, the Mud Lake weather station was at 59 cm snow depth. At 8 a.m. today, it was showing a snow depth of 107 cm(net gain of 48 cm). Mud Lake is near the Burstall Pass and Chester Lake trailheads.
Having one of the longest driveways in Canmore, today’s menu consists of lots of snow shovelling. Yesterday’s menu was a lot better. Down the street from me, I visited the Market Bistro where I had the tastiest soup ever. Chef Anthony is back from his holiday in Bali and is treating customers to a wonderful dining experience with some Balinese dishes on the menu. I highly recommend it if you are in Canmore today.
