Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Calgary, Canmore, Kananaskis, Banff and Lake Louise at 15:43 Wednesday 14 March 2018:
Snowfall, with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected.
Heavy snowfall will spread northward across southern Alberta beginning on Thursday morning. The highest amounts of snow are anticipated to fall west of a line running from Red Deer to Milk River, including Lethbridge and Calgary. Some areas may receive up to 20 cm locally before the snow tapers off by Friday morning.
I’m not a big fan of skiing on wet snow, so I haven’t been out recently. Let’s hope the fresh snow, some cooler temperatures, and new grooming will rejuvenate the ski trails for a while.
A quick measurement at skier bob headquarters in the morning would be great. (-: Probably head to Bragg creek tomorrow aft, get on telephone loop, and maybe more if grooming occurs in the morning. Good timing for a reset for sure. Will have to dig out the couch again too this weekend, ready for the next high pressure ridge, and just keep skiing into may…..
