Elk Pass contest update

Update Nov 29: Nick is the winner.

Update Dec 2: Brett is the second winner.

Unfortunately a lot of entrants have already been eliminated from the Elk Pass contest sponsored by Stoney-Nakoda Resort. Unfortunate because it would have been nice to see earlier tracksetting.

With 11 cm of new snow on Saturday night, will it be enough to start tracksetting Elk Pass? If not, I see the weather forecasts are calling for 10 cm of snow this week, so there’s a good chance that someone who picked a date within the next seven days will be the winner. That would include the following:

(the name in bold was the first to pick the date)

Nov 25: Ken, Simon, Martin and Jip, Tristan

Nov 26: Shelley, Chris S, Gina, Larissa, Terry Z, Katie

Nov 27: Sylvia A, Hannah, Mary Perrott, Gerrad Lewin, Roger G, Clae W, Charlie

Nov 28: Caren, Pierre Lamoureux, Susan Knapp, Jackie, Paul, Dave Galasso

Nov 29: Brett, Rhonda Wilson, Barbara, Marta, Barbara Mathies, Shulamit Kuttner, Adam, Tom Malaher, Nick

Nov 30: Doug Meldrum, John Haley, Taryn Montgomery

Dec 1: Cathy, Karin B, Manfred

First person to pick the date is the automatic first winner. Everyone else who picked the date will be entered in a draw for the second winner.

  1. Thanks to the good people at Strathcona Wilderness Centre in Sherwood Park who did miracles with the scant snow we had, I was able to skate ski there three times already this month. Hoping for some new snow now after last weekend’s meltdown.
