Sunday morning update

It sounded as if the ski trails were not too busy yesterday. The traffic gets spread around when there are 17 areas with groomed trails on which to ski.

Paul and Nancy on the Bow River Loop: “Only four other skiers out on these trails.”

Barb B in Yoho: “only saw one other person”

Normand at Shadow Lake: “No one else up there”

Shulamit at Great Divide/Lower Telemark: “Not too many people out surprisingly.”

Tracksetting Updates

At West Bragg Creek, Mountain road, Crystal Line and Sundog were groomed overnight.

At Lake Louise yesterday, Fairview, Bow River Loop, and the Campground Loop were trackset.  I hope you have sunshine when you do the Bow River Loop because it is one incredibly beautiful trail. Fairview has some nice scenery, too.  Dogs are allowed on the Bow River and Campground Loops.

The Parks Canada trail report for Yoho indicates the Alluvial Fan and Horse trail at Emerald Lake are trackset. The update from Kicking Horse Ski Club mentioned “The trails at Emerald all DID get a first ‘Track Set’ yesterday!” If it was indeed all the trails, that would include the Tree Hugger and possibly the Lake, too. The Alluvial Fan is another trail with spectacular scenery.

A number of the natural snow trails at the Canmore Nordic Centre were groomed yesterday(not trackset) including Banff, Bow, Meadowview, Rundle, and Grey Wolf.

At Golden, BC the Dawn Mountain trails were all groomed yesterday(Dec 14).
