Mar 13 @ 6 pm:
Thanks to Alf Skrastins for the photo and this comment: “17-20 cm of new snow, so far, at West Bragg Creek. Groomers are out packing it down, in spite of the frigid temperatures.”
The prediction for West Bragg Creek was 21 cm but it looks like they’ll get even more than that. Forecasts are calling for an additional 8-10 cm by Saturday night.
The WBC weather station indicates the temperature at the trailhead is -20°C.
The Skogan Pass trails were trackset today. With some fresh, cold snow, the descent will be safe and fun. It’s a 600-metre elevation loss from the summit.
The Pipestone trails at Lake Louise were trackset today. Lake Louise is not receiving as much snow, so the tracksetting should be in nice shape.
