Jan 28th: Very fine grained but steady snowfall moved in to the Park on Wednesday evening, bringing the first accumulation of snow in almost 2 weeks.  Snow fell throughout the grooming period, but as of 2AM, less than 2cm’s of snow had accumulated in the Elk Pass parking lot- a little more at higher elevations, and slightly less at lower elevations further north, and it had stopped snowing at that time.  Persistent winds accompanied the snowfall, leading to drifting in open areas (especially Hydroline).

Almost all trails have now been groomed since a major windstorm, and the debris will be mixed in to the base (or covered by a thin layer of snow on a few of the middle trails).

The Weather Network is calling for a couple cm of snow in PLPP today.

The temperature at the Lower Lake is -9°C.
