There’s 2 – 4 cm of snow in the forecast for the mountains for Tuesday afternoon and night! I can’t remember the last time we had that much snow all at once. I’d love to see some snow-laden spruce and pine trees once more this winter.

Jerry is looking for some information if anyone can help:
Hi Bob. I have been searching for information on the trail from Mt Shark to Mt Assiniboine lodge but cannot find any.
Do you know of a site that I could see the route and maybe get GPS waypoints or print out the route?
There are 6 of us planning to do it soon.
My friend and I broke trail into Assiniboine on Feb 8 and skied out on the 11 so currently there is a good trail the whole way. You may want to invest in the Banff and Mount Assiniboine Gemtrek map from Mec. The route in is well signed anyways. The only confusing part (when there is no trail) is crossing the meadow below assiniboine pass (which tends to be wind blown) and the meadows after the pass just before the lodge. That section is now marked with orange flagging so you won’t get lost. Its supposed to be busy there on the family day weekend so there should be plenty of skiers heading in and out. My friend and I did about 100km of skiing in that area during our four days with beautiful sunny weather and great snow conditions. Have a fun trip!
