Blast from the past

How did we survive before the internet? When I was the Calgary Ski Club’s nordic director in 2003-2004, we planned our entire schedule in October! Email was just starting to become popular. Tracksetting updates were posted by Kananaskis once  a week at the Visitor Centres or you could phone them for the info.

Below is a page from the CSC’s Feb 2004 newsletter. Luckily, we had excellent snow and trail conditions in 2003-2004 and all our planned trips went ahead. We had a lot of fun that winter.

  1. I remember the Mt Kidd “spa”! I assume that’s the $2 a visit basement hot tub in the village centre. Wonder what became of that?
