The trails are icy at Lake Louise this morning. It rained last night and did not snow. The temperature is -1 with an expected high of zero.
It’s supposed to start snowing this afternoon. A snowfall warning has been issued for the mountains and Calgary with 10-20 cm expected by Sunday morning.
Cheryl and I drove up to Lake Louise last night and I just went out and checked the Great Divide. Nicely trackset but icy. Moraine Lake road is not recommended until there’s more snow.
I will give the Great Divide a try on my skin skis a little later this morning.
With some new snow and cooler temps, everything should improve considerably.
