As already discussed on the comments, there’s a big-time snowfall forecast for the weekend. The most optimistic one, the Snow Forecast for PLPP, predicts 49 cm between now(Wed a.m.) and Monday.

The flip side of that forecast shows extremely cold temperatures on the way as well, with a low of -26 on Monday, and a high of -18.

The higher elevations have enough snow to start the grooming process, but we need more at the trailheads which are at lower elevations. Elk Pass trailhead is at 1720 metres.

Ribbon Creek tracksetter Jeff said he needs an additional 10 cm on the trails to start packing.
