Unfortunately I wasn’t there to join the fun, but I’m glad to see so many of our “regulars” were enjoying the day on great conditions at Pipestone. Chuck skied every trail on the map!
Below is Mary Perrott’s trip report. Be sure to look at all of Chuck’s photos.
Pipestone Loops – a wonderful day on good track set. There was a skiff of snow overnight, and with a starting sunny temp. of -10C., we were content with blue wax. I added some V45 later in the morning.
We covered all the trails in the area except for the 2 km. section of Pipestone from junction that is .4 km from parking lot to Drummond Jct. The Pipestone section from Drummond Jct. along the Pipestone River had quite a few needles, but it didn’t affect us very much. After that the tracks were fast and only washed out in a few places on steep curves. (Don’t trust the tracks to hold you in at speed!)
Lovely, luscious snowscapes everywhere. Happily, we ran into quite a few Trip Reporters today (Chuck, Chip, Helen Read and a few others). It was like a family reunion! It was -4C and snowing lightly when we finished skiing. Coffee at Laggan’s hit the spot, as always.
