We learned from Louise’s trip report that Lake Louise received a lot of snow yesterday. 8.5 cm was predicted and it looks like they received all of that and more.
Lots of interesting trip reports coming in from Christmas day skiers. A re-gifted Christmas present from Alberta parks: MaSid informs us that Pocaterra Hut hours have reverted back to the original 8 pm closing time.

The miscreants returning from the Alpine Club of Canada hut at Elk Lakes dumped their uneaten food on the picnic table at the Elk Pass – Tyrwhitt – Hydroline junction. MaSid was there and saw them do it. I’ve included his report
I took a spin around Bowness Park this afternoon. What a lovely trail – if only it had another 10 cm of snow. I was surprised to see there was a skating lane as well as a classic track.
There was a flurry of activity at the polling station where I cast my vote in the Olympic plebiscite. I’m not saying how I voted because you know how I dislike controversy. A flurry of last-minute guesses are coming in for the Elk Pass contest. Neil and Nora’s recent trip…
