Early-season skiing in years past

Most years, we would be skiing in early November in Lake Louise. This photo of Ray and Cheryl was taken on Oct 31, 2009 on Moraine Lake road, and that was the earliest ever for me. With the recent development of Frozen Thunder, a paradigm shift in early-season skiing has been created, and we can now look forward to starting in mid-October.

I went back through some photos and picked out a few from the earliest dates I’ve ever skied. Elk Pass can also get early snow but it’s inconsistent from year to year.

  1. Oh let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. I went last year out to Canmore when there was only a 900m track but it was great to have the skis on in October. Can’t wait for a 3K track this early. Love the new look of the website

  2. Ahhhhh….Can’t wait!!! Already got the wax table out!!…hehehe
